What is it? Dubbed ‘The Vampire Facial’ but otherwise known as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), this facial involves extracting blood from the arm (with a syringe not fangs) and spinning the vial of blood in a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the red and white blood cells. The concentrated plasma is then injected into the face via micro needling.
Who has had it? The Vampire Facial was made famous by Kim Kardashian. Other celebrity fans include Victoria’s Secret model Bar Rafaeli and actress Anna Friel.
What are the Benefits? Plasma is rich in platelets which contain growth factors. It is these growth factors which stimulate new collagen growth in the face, leaving the skin plump and taught.
Cost and where to get it? The facial lasts 30-40 minutes and will set you back around £600 per session from Dr Terry (www.drterry.com) located at 64 Knightsbridge, London, SW1X 7JF.
